Student Grants

Graduate students and recent PhDs may apply for a grant funded by the ASL and LMS. To be considered, please send:

  • a letter of application;
  • and a brief recommendation letter by the thesis supervisor.

to Monika Seisenberger (m.seisenberger@swansea.ac.uk) and Manlio Valenti (manlio.valenti@swansea.ac.uk) with "LC2026 travel grant application" in the subject no later than March 23, 2026.

Your application letter should be brief (preferably one page) and should include:

  • your name;
  • your home institution;
  • your thesis supervisor’s name;
  • a one-paragraph description of your studies and work in logic, and a paragraph indicating why it is important to attend the meeting;
  • your estimate of the travel expenses you will incur;
  • (voluntary) indication of your gender and minority status. Women and members of minority groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

The students grants available will include a fees, lunches, on-campus accommodation in the student halls, and depending on the funds available also travel support.

Student Grants for US citizens/US residents

To Citizens or residents of the USA we recommend that they apply to ASL directly as ASL has additional funds for US graduate students. Please send a:

  • a letter of application with proof of UAS citizenship/visa status in the application
  • a brief recommendation letter by the thesis supervisor

LMS Grants for Participants from Scheme 5 Countries

We have a small amount available to support participants from scheme 5 countries. Please send an application to Monika Seisenberger (m.seisenberger@swansea.ac.uk) and Manlio Valenti (manlio.valenti@swansea.ac.uk) by 1 April 2026.

Include in your application:

  • Proof that you are eligible
  • The support you're requesting.

Support for Childcare

We have a small amount funded by the Heilbronn Institute available to support participants with children.

Please send an application by emailing Monika Seisenberger (m.seisenberger@swansea.ac.uk) and Manlio Valenti (manlio.valenti@swansea.ac.uk) by 1 April 2026 to discuss the support that is needed and available.
